Dear Kylie,

     I think that you participate in the class a lot and I feel that you know what is going on in the class most of the time. But participation isn’t everything. I think that when you are writing your essays you seem just to plow through it and not elaborate on some of the topics that you feel are more important to you. I know who you are through your first 2 essays, but after that I lost who you were as a person. You should take more time to reevaulate your essays and the time that is spent on working with your essays. You have helped me to make this class more fun with your ridic antics and your bubbly personality.

Dear Marlen,

     I think that this class is definetly one of my favorite classes. You are an amazing teacher and I felt that I have learned a SHIT LOAD from you this semester. You were the teacher that made this class fun and interesting. But there are somethings that I think needed to be changed in order to make the upcoming students more prepared and more understanding. When I had gotten your e-mail in the summer I was really confused about the blogs. I had NEVER used a blog before and I was so confused. I did set up my blog eventually with the help of my friend but I really wished that you could have had like a tutorial on the e-mail because I soon realized that we would be constantly using the blog every class and every homework assignment that we had. I think that will make the students more aware of the technology and what is expected from you for this class. I also think that you need to make your expectations of the students more known. Not everyone is going to do their homework and not everyone is going to get a perfect, so maybe if you were to make it more clear how you want things done not only from the syllabus, but from you, personally telling the class.

Where will I begin??????????

1.     I am going to define what an autoethnography is and I am also going to describe that there are more than just one definition of what ‘I’ is….

2.     Then I’m going to elaborate on all of the work that I had done in the previous semester and then I am going to explain each and every topic

3.     There will be photos and there will be quotations from me and my friends and also from famous authors. I would like to use quotations from the Ackerman book.

4.     I want this essay to really reflect who I truly am and how I percive things and how I am able to make my topic clear and to maintain the consistancy in the essay with out confusing the readers.

The last thing that I want my reader to see is how much this class meant to me and how I connected myself with all of my writing, especially this one.

I is something that can not be expressed in words or even in this essay that I am writing now…Writing this essay is going to help myself show the expression of me through words. This is not a simple task as someone might think. Using all of the information from the previous semester I have learned a lot about myself. I have learned what i need to imorive as a writer and I have learned what I am good at as a writer. I love writing my narrative essay about vision. It was an essay that described all the hurt and pain that I had seen when I went to D’Iberville, Mississippi to volunteer to help hurricane Katrina victims. I had traveled there with my church youth group and a couple of head people in the church. I had seen so much devistation there that when I went home any my parents asked me how my trip was…there were no words to describe my feelings and all of the important life lessons that I had gained from the experience. During that week I had stayed with my work crew and we were in charge of cutting down trees that were harmful to the people who lived close to the harmful trees. My work crew leader was someone who I will never forget. He was in the Marines and he had went to war many of times. He had a ‘can do’ attitude that I really liked. He had a set goal and he never swayed from his intentions of helping the victims of the hurricane. He was someone that I look up to even now. He knew how to get the job done and he knew how to make the residents feel safe and secure while we were banging and cutting and scraping all of the bark and timber from the trees.

The three publications that I would use to get my autoethnography out and circulated to the public would be  a bulletin for my church, a newspaper article and

I want to use the publication of my church bulletin because I want to focus my paper a lot about the volunteer work that I did in Mississippi. There are a lot of examples and my church members would appreciate my time spent on using them as a publication audience.

I want to have my audience to be really broad so that is why I want to use a newspaper so there are many people who will be able to possibly read my published work. I also would like to use a newspaper so I can be sort of competitive with my writing so that I can strive to be better so that my work gets published before someone else’s paper.

The last publication that I would use is a magazine. I would want to use this publication because it is totally different from my other examples of publications in that it might be a challenge to be able to use all three publications with the same work of autoethnography.
